Born in Portugal, Fernandez grew up in the prestigious Portuguese team Benfica Youth Team. After signing a professional contract with Benfica in July 2018, he began being given the opportunity in the 2018/19 season. Fernandez scored three goals and six assists in 46 games in all competitions.

Fernandez, who seemed to be Benfica’s main player, began to be pushed back gradually from the 2019/20 season. Tottenham approached Fernandez as he sat on the bench more often. In January 2020, Tottenham paid 4.5 million euros (about 6.4 billion won) in rent and hired Fernandez on loan.

Contrary to expectations, Fernandez also struggled at Tottenham. Fernandez never started for Tottenham in the 2019/20 season. Things haven’t changed in the 2020/21 season. He made only two appearances in the 2020/21 season. Fernandez, who was also unable to settle for Tottenham, returned to Benfica in the winter of 2021.

Fernandez then left for Turkiye. After living on loan from Galatasaray SK and Tsaikur Riesespor, he completely transferred to Besiktas in July last year. In the 2022/23 season, Fernandez showed compliance with three goals and seven assists in 36 games for Besiktas. He has scored one goal and two assists in nine games so far this season. Besiktas eventually decided to renew his contract with Fernandez.
